The results of British Times Rankings 2022 showed that Aswan University is ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide, coming in the 401-500 category. The university also ranked first as the best university globally in terms of research citations, for the second time in its history.
Additionally, the university was ranked as the best Egyptian university, maintaining its position at the top of Egyptian university for the third consecutive year.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mehall Orabi_ Director of the International Ranking Office_ declared that Aswan University is the only Egyptian university to be ranked among the top 500 universities globally, according to the latest results of the Times Higher Education rankings for 2022, published yesterday, Thursday, September 2nd.
He mentioned that this ranking comes following a series of consecutive successes achieved by the university nationally and internationally in 2021. In April of last year, Aswan University achieved a unique milestone, ranking highest among Egyptian universities ever in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021 for Sustainable Development Goals. The university ranked the 95th position among the top 100 universities globally and was the best Egyptian university with more than 100 places over the second best Egyptian universities.
Prof. Mohamed Orabi explained that in light of global challenges that can only be faced through scientific research and international cooperation, Aswan University’s scientists and academics excelled in producing high-quality scientific and applied research. This was evident in Aswan University’s first-place ranking globally in terms of citation impact, reaffirming its quality and global importance.
The Times Higher Education Rankings is one of the most significant academic rankings for global universities. It is an annual ranking of universities published by the British Times Foundation. It is based on 13 performance indicators carefully calibrated in the fields of education, scientific research, knowledge transfer, and international collaboration. In the current 2022 edition, over 1,600 universities in 99 countries were ranked.
